# Privacy

The short version: the calculators run on your device, nothing you type leaves it, and there are no cookies.

## What you type

Birth dates, weights, distances and every other value you enter are processed by this page's code in your browser. They are not sent to any server, not stored and not shared. When you use a Copy or Download button, the text or CSV file is made on your device.

## The ISS tracker

The [ISS tracker](https://orbitwhisper.buzz/iss-tracker/) is the only part of the site that contacts another service. When you press "Locate the ISS now" or "Show the next 90 minutes", or while "Update every 10 seconds" is ticked, your browser asks https://api.wheretheiss.at for the station's position. The request contains nothing about you and the page never asks for your location, but like any web request it reaches that server from your internet address and with your browser's usual technical details. The page sends it without a referrer and without cookies. That service is run independently of this site. Nothing is fetched until you press a button.

## Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare adds to pages served from its network. It counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type into the tools. There is no other analytics, advertising or tracking.

## Cookies and local storage

The site does not use cookies. If you pick Day or Night with the theme button, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name ow-theme so the next page opens in the same colours. Switching back to Auto removes it. Nothing else is stored.

## Fonts and files

Fonts, scripts, styles and the world map are served from this site itself. No content is loaded from other servers.

Links to NASA, JPL, NIST, the sister sites and the recommended sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
